Are you interested in booking Jenny for a future event? Here are some suggestions:

Note: The following information may help you in planning for her time with you. All of these suggestions are based on years of experience and are neither directions nor rules. She is very flexible and has spoken in just about every imaginable situation. Usually an event committee or individual appreciates some positive help to make the time relaxed and more enjoyable for everyone. She wants to serve you and bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ.

Transportation

The host organization is to make travel arrangements. If you intend for Jenny to drive to your event, please allow at least .58 cents per mile plus any meals she may need on the trip.

If you intend for Jenny to fly, she prefers Southwest Airlines, when possible. On other airlines which have reserve seating, please reserve an aisle seat towards the front section of the plane. Her flights will be out of Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City. She prefers not to drive rental cars. It is best to arrange flights which come in the evening before a morning event. Please allow some extra time for rest after arrival. This also allows some flexibility for flight changes.

Lodging

It is fine for Jenny to stay in a guest room of a home. She also enjoys Bed and Breakfast lodging and rooms in historic homes or districts. If she is staying in a hotel or motel, she needs a non-smoking room. Jenny prefers not to stay at Marriott. If there is extra time before of after your event, she enjoys sightseeing, eating out, shopping, etc. She also enjoys resting and studying in her room.

Publicity

A photo and additional information will be sent upon request. Please reserve copies of your publicity so that she can send these to friends, etc.

Program

Choose music to compliment the theme of your event. Usually upbeat music is good before her presentation, however she will be flexible according to your needs. Please plan flexibility into your program. Since she will probably be speaking toward the end of a program, please allow plenty of time for other parts so she does not have to feel rushed to end her presentation.

A strong introduction builds a sense of anticipation with the audience and is an important part of the program. Use the sample introduction as a guide. She would appreciate mention of her tapes which will be for sale at the end of the program.

Please include her in a prayer time before the event, if at all possible. Please share evaluations and follow-up comments with her. It is so encouraging to hear about changed lives and to hear from attendees during the days following your event. Constructive comments are also helpful.

Sample Introduction

Jenny Broughton has come today as a communicator and an encourager. Through her humor and life experiences, she will have you "laughing one minute and crying the next."  Jenny has been married for ___ years and is the mother of three daughters.  She loves to decorate her home and tell stories about her "hunka-hunka burnin' love!"  Most of all she loves to share how God has made a difference in her life.  Please join me in welcoming Jenny Broughton.

Room Set Up

Hold the event in a room just barely large enough to house the size of the expected group. Your event will have a much greater sense of success if the room looks full of people.

Since her style is interactive with the audience, her presentations will be most effective if the audience is close to her. Please set the first row of chairs no more than 10 feet from the stage area.

Place a table in the back of the meeting room or in the foyer just outside the room for tape sales. She would appreciate someone being available to sell these tapes so she can be free to visit and minister.

Jenny prefers a lavaliere (lapel) microphone. As a high energy speaker, she does not stand in one spot while speaking. This type of microphone allows movement and freedom to gesture. Jenny has to use her hands! A pulpit or lectern is not needed. However, for retreats and conferences, a small table or podium is useful for display items.

Honorariums

Jenny's speaking ministry is her main source of income. The amount of her honorarium depends on the number of presentations and the size of the audience. Usually, a single presentation (banquets, luncheons) will provide $300 - $500 and multiple presentations (retreats, conferences) will provide $500 - $1000. If these amounts are too much for your consideration, please visit with her before making a final decision. She has some ideas that have worked for other groups and will probably help you. One approach is for the host group to pay a smaller set honorarium and then take a "love offering" after her presentation.

Jenny is willing to adjust her fees to your budget or needs. She speaks in some groups for much less than the quoted amounts. Other groups are able to give her more. The host organization can really help by (1) clearly stating the decided honorarium and (2) having the honorarium check ready at the time of the presentation.

Thank you for considering Jenny as the speaker for your event. Again, these are just some suggestions. Please feel free to visit with her about ideas you may have to make your event successful.
